The Department of Design for Contemporary Life is a department that pursues the design of spaces in which humans live as well as the things which people use in their daily lives.
We are not just concerned with the planning and skills involved in the crafting of things, but also the knowledge and philosophy that are necessary for developing a sense of design.
In the Department of Design for Contemporary Life, we aim to create skilled and knowledgeable individuals who are specialists with a broad education.
Two special courses are offered in the Department of Design for Contemporary Life:
the Fashion Design Course, with a concentration on design and business in the fashion industry, and the Esthetics of Design Course, with a concentration on architecture, and interior and graphic design.
In each course, we aim to give students exceptional specialist skills and knowledge through a variety of lectures and hands-on training.
Through direct involvement not only in Gifufs regional fashion industry, but also in architectural, interior, printing, and publishing industries,
we endeavor to create individuals who are able to exhibit their personal abilities as well as make a valuable contribution to society.
