Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to introduce current trends in contemporary British literature. In the first section, the short story entitled gNot the Queenh by Jackie Kay is translated into Japanese. The short story was originally published in New Writing 11, the latest edition of an annual anthology of new works by established and new authors in Britain. In the second section of the paper, the short story is given a critical analysis and review.
