Abstract
Modern Austrian architect Adolf Loos has been conventionally evaluated as an architect who advocates no ornamenting. However, it is reappraised recently by the technique of the "Raumplan" originated by Loos, which characteristic is emphasized in the nature of space and economical efficiency. This study aims to clarify the principle of the spatial composition of Raumplan by analyzing five works planned from 1922 to 1930 and based on Raumplan i.e. Rufer House, Tristan Tzara House, Josephine Baker House, Moller House, and Muller House, mainly from the viewpoint of the external elements.
