Abstract

Since‚Q‚O‚O‚Q, many elementary schools have implemented English instruction as part of the Global UnderstandingiKokusai Rikai Kyoikuj curriculum. However, most elementary school teachers have had little experience in teaching English; therefore, there is some confusion over what they should do. The purpose of this study is to collect information through a questionnaire in order to better understanding what type of education children need before entering elementary school, and how the elementary school curriculum can be used to better prepare students for junior high school.
