Abstract
@The purpose of this paper is to introduce current trends in
contemporary British literature and culture.
@ In the first section,
the short story entitled gA Man of Soulh by Rajeev Balasubramanyam is
translated into Japanese. The short story was published in New Writing
12, the latest edition of an annual anthology of new works by not only
established authors but also rising authors in the United Kingdom.
@In
the second section of the paper, the short story is given a critical
analysis and review. gA Man of Soulh is a short story whose plot develops
like a drama in some respects, and its keyword is irony.
