The Skin Temperature Reaction of Aged Females to Cooled Conditions in Summer
and the Influence of Socks and Robe

Abstract
When exposed cooled condition in summer, some people have trouble with chilliness in their arms and legs. Many women are
especially, sensitive to cold, and the chilliness of their hands and feet is difficult to ease even after entering a warm environment.
This study will attempt to investigate the problems of chilliness of the limbs in aged females. The subjects were fifteen aged
females dressed in summer clothes, who were located in a hot, summer environment (32℃, 65%RH) just prior to the
commencement of the experiment. They then entered a cooled environment (26℃,50%RH). After 40 minutes, the subjects had
socks and a robe on their feet and thigh. The skin temperature measurements were taken at 5-minutes intervals over a period of 70
minutes. The influence of socks and robe present clear for the limbs temperature of the aged females.
