A Report of the 3rd Gifu Mothers Collection
―An Approach to Reinvent the Apparel Production Center by Academic-Industrial Collaboration―

Abstract

In Gifu, various plans have been recommended from B to B to B to C, aiming at industrial revival while a domestic production center became impoverished. However, for reality, the apparel company is exposed to cost competition intensification by the increase of SPA (Specialty store retailer of Private label Apparel) as new business model, and the continuation of the small and medium size apparel company is critical.
Following last year, "the third Gifu Mothers collection" tried new business model construction through Academic-industry collaboration. I analyze what was achieved in this project or what was short. Then I consider the route toward the reinvention of fashion industry in Gifu.
